I Bought the Lookah Cat for My Birthday. My Roommate Immediately Wanted One Too.

The Lookah Cat was a birthday gift to myself, and I’m not even embarrassed about it. I’d been eyeing cute 510 thread battery designs for a while, and this one kept showing up in my feed — the glass-and-silicone combo with those cat ears was too charming to ignore.

So I ordered it. Here’s what actually happened.

First Impressions Out of the Box

Packaging is clean — not over-the-top luxury, but the kind of minimal design that feels intentional. Inside: the Cat, a USB-C cable, a manual. That’s it. No filler, no unnecessary plastic.

Picking it up for the first time, I noticed two things: it’s lighter than I expected, and the glass top section gives it a weirdly premium feel. The silicone bottom half is warm and grippy, while the glass catches light in a way that makes the whole thing look more expensive than it is.

Then I hit the power button.

The RGB lighting kicked in and I actually laughed. It cycles through colors smoothly — not cheap-looking at all. My roommate walked by and said “what is that?” before I even explained it. That’s the kind of reaction a good 510 thread battery should get.

Vaping Performance

The Cat packs a 750mAh battery — biggest in Lookah’s cute lineup, as far as I know. That translated to about a day and a half of moderate use for me before needing a charge. Not bad at all.

I started at 3.2V and was immediately happy. Warm vapor, clean flavor, no weird aftertaste. The 10-second preheat function is a real feature here — it warms thick oils evenly so you don’t get that cold-start harshness that ruins the first hit. I’ve used cart batteries that cost twice as much and didn’t include this.

Flavor-wise, 2.4V is where you want to be if you’re chasing terps. Bright, forward, delicious. Bumping to 4.0V trades flavor for cloud volume, which is fine for some people but not my preference on a daily basis.

The Honest Downsides

Glass on top means it looks gorgeous but I’m cautious about drops. Haven’t broken mine yet, but I baby it a little more than I would a full-silicone device. If you’re clumsy, keep that in mind.

The RGB lighting is fun but it probably drains battery faster. I haven’t measured it scientifically, but I noticed shorter battery life on days when I had the lights cycling continuously versus using it with lights off.

Five color options for what’s supposed to be a fun, expressive device feels like too few. Give me more, Lookah.

Who Should Get This

If you care about how your device looks as much as how it performs, the Lookah Cat hits different. The RGB lighting turns it into something you actually want to show off, and the performance holds up its end of the bargain.

It’s not the most powerful or the most durable option out there, but it might be the most fun. And sometimes that matters more.
